So for the last couple of weeks I have been rather ambitious and productive. I have been knitting like crazy. The first project of mine was to knit using plarn, which is a yarn that is made from cutting up plastic grocery bags and chaining them together to get a yarn like substance. I used the tutorial here. I decided to make a couple of grocery bags for my sister for her birthday, which she really liked. My first attempt was a learning experience and I guess a reminder in that I can’t do simple math, as it turned out to have three handles instead of two. But the second one turned out much better. I am about half way through knitting a third and possibly final bag right now.
I also knitted up a bunch of wash clothes for my sisters bridal shower (patterns are here, here, here, here, and here) which will be favours for the guests. I am nearly done with those, I just need to knit two more!
While knitting the plarn shopping bags for my sister, i decided to knit myself a market bag for going to the farmers market and grocery store. I really like it. I made a couple alterations than what the pattern called for, but it serves its purpose and was a fun project!
